- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) issued solicitation N00024-02-R-4109 for preparation and accomplishment of the Interim Dry-Docking (IDD) Availability of USS MINNAPOLIS / ST PAUL (SSN 708). The IDD includes maintenance, repair, alterations, testing and routine work on a nuclear-powered submarine. Period and Place of Performance can be obtained by contacting Ms. Karen S. Shivers. The IDD is scheduled to last approximately four months. It is anticipated that this contract will be a noncompetitive award to Northrop Grumman Newport News a nuclear-qualified contractor. A fixed price contract is contemplated. The solicitation was issued and posted electronically on or about 25 June 2002 at the following Web site at http://www.eps.gov/ where it may be found under its solicitation number and downloaded. The tentative due date for receipt of proposals is 29 July 2002.
