Description

The National Park Service, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, is seeking a qualified contractor to design, fabricate and install a tactile model of the historic ship Balclutha at Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco, CA. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Department of Interior's (DOI) National Business Center (NBC) web site at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Interested contractors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the web site. Contractors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Subscribers to this service are ultimately responsible for reviewing the web site for all information relevant to this solicitation. Plan holders will be required to visit this web site periodically to check for amendments and other changes to the procurement documents. No other notifications will be sent. Proposed issue date is July 23, 2002. Title of Project: Provide Tactile Model of Historic Ship Balclutha at Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco, CA. Work includes, but is not limited to, (1) Designing the tactile model to withstand multiple handling by the general public, (2) Designing the model to be a minimum of four feet in length and three feet in height to provide visually impaired park visitors close sight and touch interpretation, (3) Fabricating/constructing the model to be corrosion resistant to withstand the unprotected marine environment, and (4) Installing the model in accordance with approved pier installation drawing. Period of Performance: one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. Magnitude of this procurement is between $25,000 and $100,000. NAICS code for this project is 711510 with a small business size standard of $6.0 million. The National Park Service welcomes the participation of small, minority owned, veteran owned and women owned enterprises. This procurement is 100% setaside for qualified small business concerns.
