Description

NA PROJECT TITLE: MICHAEL ARMY AIRFIELD (PHASE I) LOCATION: DUGWAY PROVING GROUND, UT JOB DESCRIPTION: At the site of the original airfield runway (built in 1943 and abandoned in the early 1960's), construct an interim runway to current standards. Project consists of removal of the asphalt overlay of the existing 6700-foot airstrip and reu se of the material as subgrade reinforcement in the portion of the new footprint where no previous construction has occurred (north end). Using the existing aggregate base in place, build the runway sections upward from there, resulting in a 7000-foot runw ay with 1000-foot overruns at each end (total 9000-feet of pavement). Project also consists of development of a quarry on Dugway Proving Ground (Manookin Road site) for source of aggregates, sand, and gravel which meet airfield material specifications. Pro ject also consists of construction of both concrete and asphalt batch plants in the airfield area for pavement placement. Project includes installation of airfield lighting and a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) system and all appropriate striping. This Procurement will be conducted under FSC CODE: Y124, SIC CODE: 1611, NAICS Code: 234110. The size standard for this code is $28,500,000. All BIDS are due in not later than 04 SEP 2002, 2:00 pm. Bid Opening will be held at the Corps of Engineers Utah Resident Office, 7227 6th Street, Building 366, Hill AFB, UT. ORDERING SOLICITATION: The solicitation for this project will be available on the Sacramento District Contracting Division’s Internet Home Page at http://ebs.spk.usace.army.mil/ for downloading. Any future amendments to the solicitation will also be avai lable for download from this web site. Requests for copies of this solicitation in any other format than what is advertised will be disregarded. It is important that you first go to this web site and under contract division home page, click on the advert ised solicitation you are interested in. Go to plan holders registration. This will require you to establish a user name and password. Keep the user name and password and share it with anyone else in your organization that is responsible for registering your firm on plan holders lists. With our new system you only have to do the full registration one time. If you have your user name and password, you can always go back into the system and register for other jobs without having to go through the entire registration process. However, you can only do this by using your initial user name and password. In order to receive notification of any amendments to the solicitation you are required to register for the plan holders’ list. Please complete all request ed information. The solicitation will be available for download on (01 AUG 2002). From there click on SA CRAMENTO District, then it will take you to list of advertised solicitations and then from there click on the desired solicitation number. And at the bottom of this page, there is a bar that says download/view solicitation files. Select plans or specs fr om the drop down box and press go button. This will take you to the next page, then from there click on the file name and download. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. Please note that all contractors and potential contractors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database, effective 31 May 1998.
