Description
NA This is to advise industry of a planned System Development and Demonstration (SDD) program for the design, development, test, and integration of a new Mark XIIA Mode 5/S Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogator Set for the PATRIOT Radar. Contract a ward is planned for 2Q03. The new PATRIOT Interrogator Set will replace the existing PATRIOT AN/TPX-46A(V)7 Interrogator Set (NSN 5895-01-168-7286). The SDD phase is scheduled from 2Q03 - 4Q05. The contractor will build ten (10) units during the SDD pha se for performance, qualification, and reliability testing. Firm Fixed Price hardware options will be included for FY06 and FY07 for a total of 108 systems. The contractor will manufacture and deliver production hardware and installation kits to the gove rnment for installation onto the PATRIOT radar by a government and/or contractor retrofit team. A contract time and materials (T&M) provision will be included in the contract for contractor engineering services to include participation on the retrofit tea m, if required. In addition, the PATRIOT IFF Interrogator Set design will be required to have maximum commonality with future Mode 5/S IFF system designs for the Sentinel, ATNAVICS, MEADS, JLENS, MANPAD, Avenger and Linebacker radar and weapons platforms. Commonality will be included as a rating factor. The SDD phase for these platforms is estimated to begin in FY04 with Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) to follow in FY07. Draft procurement documents will be released for review/comment from industry in mid Jul 02. A final RFQ is planned for release in Sep 02.
