Description
This project will consist of repairing a floodwater detention dam built in 1966 with a floodwater detention storage of 605 acre-feet and 168 acre-feet of sediment storage. The designed volume of earthfill was 79,500 cu.yds. The dam is approximately 1,800 feet long and 28 feet high. The dam controls the runoff from approximately 1.62 square miles of drainage area. The repair work will require approximately 25,325 cu.yds. of common excavation, 2,231 cu.yds. of earthfill, embankment, 17,315 cu.yds. of lime-treated earthfill, and 28,468 sq.yds. of topsoil. Soil distrubing activities will include: clearing and grubbing, developing lime treatment area, maintenance of access road, embankment removal, lime-treatment of removed embankment soils, and embankment reconstruction, placement of waste materials, and grading, shaping, replacement of topsoil on lime-treatment area and preparations for vegetation. Only one award will be made for the entire project. The NAICS Code is 234990. Performance period will be 167 calendard days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed date, which will be approximately August 23, 2002. A 20% bid bond will be required. Performance and payment bonds of 100% each will be required of the contractor awarded this contract. This project is unrestricted and is not set-aside for small business concerns. Price range is from $250,000 to $500,000. Site showing will be conducted on July 30, 2002, 10:00 A.M., at Lamar County Courthouse, 119 North Main, Paris TX. Solicitation will be posted and be available to download on or about July 19, 2002.
