- The Flathead National Forest will be advertising a Request for Proposals for Glacier View/Hungry Horse/Tally Lake Road Decommissioning. The project consists of reclamation of approximately 35 miles on numerous roads located on Glacier View, Hungry Horse, and Tally Lake Ranger Districts, Flathead County, Montana. Items of work include stake re-establishment; construction of road closure earth berms, rock barriers, and waterbars; removal and disposal of culverts; stream restoration; and seeding and fertilizing of worksites including use of straw mulch at each site. Additionally, erosion control blankets are required at each culvert removal and stream restoration site. Straw wattles are required to be placed as specified in the plans. On the Hungry Horse Ranger District, one bottomless pipe arch installation is required. Issue date, approximately May 15, 2002. The Notice to Proceed will be issued approximately July 15, 2002, with various completion dates.
