- Eglin AFB FL has a requirement to replace the fire detection and alarm system in building 380 and replace the halon fire protection system with a wet pip sprinkler system, Eglin AFB FL. The NAICS code for this requirement is 235310. The acquisition is unrestricted. This is a Performance Price Trade Off acquisition and award will be made based upon the Best Value to the Government in accordance with FAR 15.3. The Government reserves the right to award the contract to other than the lowest proposed price. All responsible sources may submit an offer that shall be considered by the agency. This project includes, but not limited to, furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials and performing all operations in replacing the fire detection and alarm system in building 380 and replace halon fire protection system, Eglin AFB FL. In general, the work consists of furnishing and installing a complete new addressable voice evacuation fire detection system. The project consists of a Base Bid and Option No 1. The Option is to replace halon system, building 380. After the new fire alarm system is installed and activated, then the existing fire detection and alarm system may be removed. Under Option No 1, the halon fire protection system shall be removed and replaced with wet pipe sprinkler system in approximately 8500 sf. This will include tapping a water main to install a new fire riser. Performance period is 240 calendar days. Estimated dollar range is between $500,000 and $1,000.000. This is a paperless acquisition. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on the Federal Governments Electronic Posting System (www.eps.gov) on or about 26 July 2002. The ESTIMATED PRORPOSAL DUE DATE is 26 August 2002. No response to this notice is necessary and no Source List will be maintained. Prospective contractors must be registered in the DOD Central Contractors Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a Government contract. Offerors are further advised that failure to register in the CCR database will render your firm ineligible for award. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS Number. Recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for timely award. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after closing date, with no obligation to the offeror by the Government. See Note 26.
