Description
NA Maintenance Dredging will be performed at various locations along the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal from Station 99+000 to Station 250+440. Dredging from Station 99+000 to Station 163+655 will be required to a depth of 38 feet with a one-foot allowable ov erdepth permitted. Dredging from Station 163+655 to Station 250+440 will be required to a depth of 40 feet with a one-foot allowable overdepth permitted. Work areas will be limited by a vertical plane through the required depth contour with no side or en d slopes. Dredging will be performed to a point extending 25 feet outside the channel edges in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Approach Channel where shoaling occurs along the channel edge within the authorized channel limits. The material to be removed from St ation 163+655 to Station 250+440 must be performed by Bucket Dredge only with placement by bottom dump scows. Overboard disposal area known as Site 92 in the Chesapeake Bay will be utilized for material removed from Station 163+655 to Station 250+440. Fe derally owned Courthouse Point disposal area will be utilized for material removed from 99+000 to Station 163+655. Estimated construction cost for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Liquidated damages are included in the contract, and bon ding is required. The Invitation for Bid documents will be available on the web page on or about 16 July 2002 and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. Contractors shall download this Invitation for Bid (includi ng drawings) from the Internet at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp on or after issue date of the Invitation for Bid. The official media of distribution for this procurement is the INTERNET WEB PAGE. All ame ndments to this Invitation for Bid will be posted to the Internet web page at the above address. Hard copies of the amendment will not be furnished. It is the contractor?s responsibility to monitor the Internet web page for amendments. Interested contra ctors must register on the Internet. If any of the contractor?s information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user profile may caus e a delay in receiving the Invitation for Bid and amendments. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the Invitation for Bid including any drawings. Bids will be due on or about 15 August 2002 at 11:00 am. This procurement is unrestricted. T he NAICS Code is 234990 with a size standard of $28.5 million. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. In order to be eligible to receive an award fro m this solicitation, you must be registered in the DODs Central Contractor Registration database as required by DFARS 204.7300 and comply with VETS-100 annual reporting as required by FAR 22.1310(b).
