Description
Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Point Mugu, CA is soliciting proposals on a full and open competitive basis to award a Firm Fixed Price contract to produce thirty (30) each of a synthesized S-band frequency modulated (FM) radio frequency (RF) telemetry transmitter to be built to NAWCWD Specification AS-6157 and Drawing 642AS8215 which will be included with the solicitation. The transmitter is part of a telemetry system and transmits randomized non-return-to-zero level (NRZ-L) pulse code modulated (PCM) missile flight performance data to a ground station via an antenna. There will be option quantities of seventy (70) additional units. Initial delivery period for first thirty (30) units shall begin in February 2003, at a rate of four per month, with an anticipated contract award date of 30 September 2002. If options are exercised, delivery period for additional seventy (70) units will begin approximately six (6) months from date of exercise of the options. The total number of units will be produced and delivered over a 5-year period. The design and performance of the units shall be qualified to meet the requirements of the specification by subjecting two (2) units to First Article Testing. Deliveries for all units will be FOB destination, Naval Air Station, Point Mugu, CA. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued around 17 July 2002. The solicitation shall be made available only via the Internet at the NAWCWD Contracts Homepage at http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/~contract/homepubl.htm. No hard copies of the solicitation will be furnished unless absolutely necessary. The anticipated due date for proposals is 19 August 2002; however, the actual proposal due date will be stated in the solicitation when issued.
