Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Electricity Division, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Fluke Electronics of Everett, Washington, for one (1) Fluke 5270A Calibrator. ***Sole source determination is based on the following: This unit will serve as a backup for an existing Fluke 5270A currently in use by NIST to provide calibration support and uncertainty analysis for the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy. The back-up system must be identical to the system currently in use to ensure 100% compatibility and to avoid costly software modifications to the system controlled software currently in use. Fluke is the sole manufacturer of this system. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, and shall be completed within 60 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334515, and the size standard is 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by July 13, 2002 will be considered by the Government. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
