- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources for a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or government off-the-shelf (GOTS) complete Web stress testing solution. The location of the installation is the Social Security Administration, National Computer Center, 6201 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235. The solution must: 1) be capable of emulating large numbers of Web users executing a wide variety of Web application technologies, 2) execute stress tests with low overhead and 3) provide for the collection of performance metrics for test analysis and bottleneck detection. Responses should include the hardware and software environments your tools support. Salient, mandatory solution characteristics of this requirement include: 1) compatibility with SSA Web hardware environments including token ring, Ethernet, firewalls, routers, switches, bridges, load balancers, Web servers, Web application servers, database servers, and mainframes; 2) compatibility with SSA Web software environments; 3) compliance with Section 508 Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Standards; 4) capability of generating stress test activity using Windows driver platforms; 5) capability of creating scripts to emulate real SSA Web users using Oracle NCA, HTML, XML, DB2, Java applet/servlet, and streaming audio/video media applications; 6) capability of timing user-defined business processes/transactions; 7) capability of adding parameters to a script to allow for testing with different data inputs; 8) capability of modifying scripts without re-recording entire script; 9) capability of controlling emulated user characteristics including user think time, browser type and connection speed; 10) capability of creating and scheduling complex user scenarios; 11) capability of displaying real time Web transaction response time and intermediate system component activity from application servers, Web servers, network devices and databases;12) capability of producing post-test reports including transaction response time and intermediate system component activity; 13) capability of saving test as a CSV file; 14) capability of providing detailed data for initial problem resolution analysis and data drilldown capability for root cause analysis; 15) capability of decomposing Web transaction response time into smaller components including client, network and server; and 16) capability of producing reports in HTML format. Instructions-respondents must send complete information including but not limited to functional characteristics, capacity, size, cost, delivery, terms, inputs/outputs, three references of customers using the product and the PC resources required to support full operation of the product as advertised. Incomplete responses will not be evaluated due to time constraints. This is an information gathering effort only and if further procurement action is taken, additional publication(s) will be done as required. Respondents will not be notified of the results of any evaluation made from the information submitted. No award will be made on the basis of this synopsis. The information received will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources. Requests for copies of a solicitation and/or telephone calls will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government will not pay for information received.
