Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to have a full and open competition for a TACL Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system, or equivalent X-band system, to demonstrate the capability for an all-weather reconnaissance and precision targeting capability, compatible with Navy tactical aircraft. The capability shall be demonstrated during flight tests on a flight vehicle provided by the Contractor or a Naval aircraft. If the Contractor chooses to utilize a Naval Aircraft, then the Contractor shall provide the necessary hardware, software, and integration support to demonstrate a flight-ready SAR pod, aircraft, and ground system. The Contractor shall perform the systems engineering functions necessary to ensure that the technical objectives of the TACL SAR demonstration are met. These functions include requirements analysis and traceability, measures of effectiveness, technical performance measures, test planning, and preparation of a final comprehensive report. The Contractor shall develop and demonstrate in-flight, a real-time precision targeting capability, employing TACL SAR or an equivalent X-band system, to include onboard reference database management, internal data transfer interfaces and off-board pre/post-flight data transfer interfaces.
