Description: NA This is a notice of intent as the MEDCOM Contracting Center, Fort Sam Houston, is proposing to establish a firm fixed-price procurement for a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Subject Matter expert, with Karta Technologies, Inc., to advise the Direct or, Chief Medical Officer and other clinical staff within the Directorate of Combat and Doctrine Development (DCDD), USAMEDDC& S, as well as provide assistance and advice to the staff of the Army Surgeon General. This advice will concentrate on NBC issues in support of the doctrine, training, leader development, organization, materiel and soldiers domains of the Army?s and the AMEDD combat development arena. The NBC Subject Matter expert must be thoroughly familiar with requirements in support of combat de velopment issues, as well as new issues such as Homeland Defense and Force Protection. Additionally, the position also provides NBC support to Army participation in various American, British, Canadian, Australian (ABCA) Quadripartite Working Groups. The p osition also serves as the Army National POC to the ABCA Health Services QWG. The contract period of performance will be from 1 July 2002 to 30 June 2003. Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Solicitation will be issued on or about 26 June 2002, with proposals due 27 June 2002.
