Description
NA STATEMENT OF WORK Replace Boiler/Bldg 8 and 235 MSQB236771 and MSQB236791 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, material, equipment, and supplies necessary to accomplish the work specified below. Contractor is responsible for keeping construction area(s) neat, orderly, and in compliance with OSHA standards. Contractor wil l be responsible for clean up upon project completion. Contractor shall comply with all OSHA and AFOSH guidelines while performing work. Contractor will not use Government dumpsters. Contractor will be responsible for the storage, transportation, and di sposal of all demolition and waste materials. Contractor is to verify all dimensions and specifications stated herein. All work to be accomplished during regularly established Air National Guard duty hours, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Government lunch break is 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. All Contractor personnel are required to have a valid photo identification card to enter the installation. All work shall be coordinated with the Project Manager, Debby Kelley or CMSgt Stephen Trent, 314-263-6223. PRINCIPLE ITEMS OF WORK: All work to be accomplished by this project shall comply with the specifications expressed herein and any drawings and/or sketches associated with the project. All materials to be utilized by the Contractor shall be submitted to the Base Civil Engineer or his official representative for approval. Allow sufficient review time so that installation will not be delayed as a result of the time required to process submittals, including time for re-submittals. Remove and replace the existing Cleaver Brooks boil er system at Building 235. Replace existing boiler with a new High Efficient Cast Iron/Water Type 2,000,000 BTU input with 1,600,000 BTU output. Remove and replace the existing Weil McClain boiler system at Building 8. Replace existing boiler with a new High Efficient Cast Iron/Water Type 1,000,000 BTU input with 940,000 BTU output. DEMOLITION: 1. Disconnect all piping and electrical to existing boiler. 2. Disassemble and remove existing boiler in mechanical rooms of Building 8 and Building 235. SITE WORK: 1. Remove boiler from mechanical rooms Building 8 and Building 235 and proper disposal off Base. 2. Prepare concrete housekeeping pad for new boiler per boiler manufactures recommended specifications. MECHANICAL: 1. Plumbing: Connect new boiler system to existing water piping. Examine and inspect all circulating pumps and give optional replacement cost. 2. Gas: Connect new boiler system to existing gas piping. 3. Test and balance new boiler system as necessary to insure proper function. ELECTRICAL: 1. Reconnect new boiler system to existing electric as required. FINISH WORK: 1. Install new mineral fiber pipe insulation on all disturbed piping required for this boiler installation. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Coordinate with Base Fire Chief for deactivation of heat/smoke detectors in boiler room before beginning of work. see note 1 Contracting Officer: Brad King 314-527-6376
