Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) requires readings of carotid and brachial artery ultrasound scans from the Buffalo Police Health Study Pilot Examination. The Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Amherst, NY, conducts the Buffalo Police Health Study, and possesses the expertise to prepare electronic data sets and has an established capability and documented record in data analysis and publication of research findings. They have recently conducted ultrasound readings for this NIOSH project and because of the need for a high degree of standardization for ultrasound readings and the value of consistency in measurement technique, it is scientifically desirable to have all ultrasound readings performed by the same professionals. Therefore, this publication serves as a notice of intent to procure on a sole source basis from The Department of Social and Preventive Medicine. This acquisition is a simplified acquisition. If any interested organization believes they can meet the above requirements, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NIOSH to determine whether the party can fully meet the requirements herein. Capabilities statements must be received in the contracting office no later than seven (7) days from the date of this announcement. Submit information to Brenda Goodwin, MS-1019, DHHS/PHS/CDC/NIOSH/ALOSH, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. The Reference Number is 2002-Q-00497. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer if determined to be in the Government?s best interest. This notice is issued for informational purposes only.
