Description

DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Ihara Tec Eximport Co. Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan, for acquisition of three (3) High Reflectron Mirror Sets. The Mirror Sets will be used by the Optical Technology Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. *****Sole source determination is based on the need for the broad bandwidth mirror sets to be comprised of synthetic silica mirror of which OH content is <50 ppm. The mirror sets shall have high relectivity (R>99.5%) from 700-1500 nm, plus high transmissivity (T>85%) at 532 nm. *****Delivery is required within 90 days or less after receipt of order (ARO) and shall be made FOB destination.***** The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333314, and the size standard is 500 Employees. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by July 10, 2002, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****
