Description

Alter/Repair Alert Crew Quarters, Bldg 248, Charleston AFB, SC. Dollar magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, plant, labor and supervision to Alter/Repair Alert Crew Quarters at Charleston AFB, SC. Work will include, but is not limited to: demolition and replacement of exterior walls of brick veneer, steel stud back up, new windows and doors. Removal and replacement of the standing seam metal roofing and modification of the roof eaves. Demolition and replacement to renovate the interior areas including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Site work will include demolition and replacement of pavements, exterior utilities, utility lines and some landscape improvements. There is no known asbestos. Lead based paint is located in 3 janitor closets. This project is unrestricted but may be considered for 100 percent set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. Interested HUBZone small business concerns should indicate interest to the Contracting Officer, in writing, as early as possible but not later than 10 calendar days after issuance of this notice. As a minimum, the following information is required: (a) a copy of the certificate issued by SBA of your qualifications as a HUBZone concern; (b) a positive statement of your intention to bid on this contract as a prime contractor; (c) evidence of recent experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, date of performance, and points of contacts with telephone numbers (and email addresses if known); (d) evidence of bonding capability to the maximum magnitude of the project to include both single and aggregate totals. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor not being considered as an interested HUBZone concern. If adequate interest is not received from HUBZone concerns, the solicitation will be issued as unrestricted without further notice. The applicable NAICS code is 233320, size standard 28.5. The successful contractor will be selected using Performance Price Tradeoff (PPT) procedures, resulting in the Best Value to the Government. Past performance is considered more important than price. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued electronically on or about 8 July 2002 on the Federal Business Opportunities web page at http://www.eps.gov. Papers copies will not be available. All prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. While funds are not presently available within Air Mobility Command for this project, we anticipate funds will become available by 18 Nov 02.
