Description

FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. The 30th Contracting Squadron, Vandenberg AFB, CA is conducting a market survey to identify sources and obtain information on a Base Notification System for Vandenberg AFB, CA as outlined in the Draft Statement of Work dated 29 March 2002. This Market Survey/Request for Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only, and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Market Survey/Request for Information (RFI), or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges will be made as a result of the submission of responses to this Market Survey/RFI and the Government's use of any such information. The Government reserves the right to reject in whole or in part any industry input as a result of this Market Survey/RFI. There is no funding currently budgeted for this project, and funding may or may not become available in the future. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date as a result of this Market Survey/RFI, a pre-solicitation notice will be published as required by FAR Part 5. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so, potential sources should clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data information and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. The Government is requesting that potential sources provide the following information within 15 days after publication of this notice: 1) Briefly describe your capabilities to provide a base notification system, or submit product brochures or marketing materials; 2) Is the proposed system an existing design, or is some developmental effort expected to meet the requirement?; 3) To what extent could commercial items or nondevelopmental items be incorporated at the component level?; 4) What are the customary industry terms and conditions regarding warranties?; 5) What is the normal lead time for installation?; 6) State whether you are a large or small business entity; and 7) provide an estimated price range to be used for budgeting purposes.
