NA Description: THIS NOTICE IS NOT INTENDED TO SOLICIT INTEREST FROM NEW CONTRACTORS FOR THIS RFP, BUT TO NOTIFY POTENTIAL SUBCONTRACTORS OF THE PRIME CONTRACTORS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SECOND PHASE OF THIS TWO-PHASE DESIGN BUILD PROJECT. Phase One has concluded and offerors have been selected to proceed to Phase Two. The following offerors will be provided RFP documents and invited to participate in Phase Two: (1) Centex Construction Company, 1395 S. Box 20 4718, Augusta, GA 30917, (706) 863-7784 (5) Turner Construction Company, 3424 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30326, (404) 504-3700. Phase Two documents will be issued on or about 7 June 2002. Phase Two proposals will be due on or about 22 Jul y 2002. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the internet at: http://ebs.sas.usace.army.mil. Description of Work: Construct an Education Center to include a testing facility, auditorium and multi-use learning facility. Also construct a Battalion Headquarters Building for the 3rd Military Police battalion and main gate improvements. Supporting facilities include utilities, electric services, exterior lighting, fire protection and alarm systems, paving, walks, curbs and gutters, parking, storm drainage, information systems, and site improvements. Access for the handicapped will be provided. Heating for the education center will be provided by a self-contained unit and for the battalion headquarters with high t emperature water supplied by the installation?s energy plant. Air conditioning (approximately 270 tons) will be provided by a self-contained unit for the education center and for the battalion headquarters building by chilled water from the central energy plant. Anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) measures will include laminated glass and traffic control barriers. The Education Center will be constructed at Fort Stewart, Georgia in an area outside the new main gate. The 3rd MP Battalion Headquarters will be built in the 200 block facing East Bultman Avenue. The main gate will be built to funnel traffic through a common point at the intersection of Georgia Highway 38, Fort Stewart Way and Memorial Drive. This project will include demolition of 6 exi sting structures for a total of 30,913 SF. These buildings include both asbestos and lead base paint. Options are a part of the contract. COST RANGE: $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal, conforming to the solicitation, offers the ?Best Value? to the Government, price and technical factors considered.
