- NA The Alaska Air National Guard intends to award a firm-fixed price construction contract, in response to Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation DAHA51-02-B-0001, to Upgrade Combat Communications Facilities. The proposed contract listed here is unrestricted and all responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1542. The North American Industry Classification is 233320 with a size standard of $28,500,000.00. The magnitude of construction is b etween $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Bonding is required. Affirmative action to ensure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting contract. Liquidated damages will be specified. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder. Large bu sinesses competing for this project must comply with the FAR 52.219-9 clause regarding the requirement for a subcontracting plan on the part of the work it intends to subcontract. This project is located on Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Information regarding the site visit is contained in the solicitation. Solicitations and plans will be issued on or about 21 June 02 with bid opening on or about 22 July 02. The approximate construction period is 365 days. There are two principal constr uction elements in this project: the minor renovation of the existing building and the construction of a new facility. Construction of the new building consists of an 11,650 square foot steel-framed, masonry walled structure on a reinforced concrete slab-o n-grade foundation and a sloped metal roof structure. Contractor will be required to provide interior walls and finishes, including lighting, electrical distribution, fire protection, and heating and ventilation throughout the entire complex. Utility c onnections, storage and parking pavements, site improvements, including the installation of overhead doors and the ability of the facility to support prewired workstations shall also be provided. This facility shall have utility ties into the existing faci lity. BIDDERS MUST BE REGISTERED in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), in order to receive a Government contract award. Solicitations will be provided on Compact Disks-Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. ONLY 25 CDs WILL BE ISSUED. CDs will be issued only to prime contractors and plans rooms on a first-come, first-served b asis. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation including any drawings.
