Description

NA See Commerce Business Daily Note 22. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has a requirement to extend the support to the Balanced Electromagnetic Hardening Technology. DTRA intends to issue modifications against Contract Nos. DSWA01-96-C-0176 and DS WA01-97-C-0065 on a non-competitive basis to JAYCOR and Fischer Custom Communications, Inc., respectively. These modifications will extend the period of performance through 31 March 2003. The services provided will be a continuation of services to suppor t the overall DTRA objective to support the Warfighter in all aspects of electromagnetic protection with innovative electromagnetic hardening technologies that reduce cost and increase effectiveness. Emphasis is on Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and High Pow er Microwave (HMP). This includes providing Electromagnetic (EM) technical assistance and support to the DoD components for developing and publishing standards, requirements, and operational procedures dealing with the survivability and operability of DoD weapon systems in WMD environments. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304 (c)(1) implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy a gency requirements.?
