- Description
- The Marine Corps has a Mission Need Statement for munitions countermeasure systems for the M1A1 Main Battle Tank. Each munitions countermeasure system must integrate on to or into the M1A1 and not degrade the performance of the M1A1. The munitions countermeasure systems must increase the M1A1?s survivability. Potential sources may propose solutions that range from, but are not limited to, the following capabilities: 1) Improved signature management, 2) Warning systems, 3) Hit Avoidance systems, and 4) Improved Armor Protection. Each system must not be adversely affected by operation of the M1A1 equipment and must withstand the tactical environments of the tank. The Government seeks to identify any proposed solutions that are non-developmental items (NDI), commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) or nearly COTS that would satisfy the requirements identified above. All vendors having the capability of meeting these requirements are requested to submit copies of relevant documentation in response to this Request for Information at no cost to the Government. Firms should include literature, brochures, capabilities summaries, and the cost of implementing the solution on M1A1 tanks. Written responses should be submitted no later than close of business 21 June 2002. The submission of the product information should not be construed as a commitment to procure equipment. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. No telephonic responses will be accepted. Responses should be submitted to the contact person listed above at Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN CTQ-MLS, Mary Lee Schuck, Contracting Officer, 2033 Barnett Ave., Suite 315, Quantico, VA 22134-5010. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, OR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
