Description
The Naval War College will be hosting a presolicitation conference on the morning of June 25, 2002, at the Naval War College, Newport, RI. The purpose of this presolicitation conference is to familiarize industry and academia with the Naval War College's program for war gaming for FY '02 and '03 and to present the concept for researching future naval capabilities. A Broad Agency Announcement solicitation is planned for release immediately after the presolicitation conference. The Naval War College's two-year war-gaming program consists of 6 to 12 research areas deemed to be of greatest importance to the future Navy. Each of these research areas is to be explored by a series of investigative events during FY '02 and '03. It is anticipated that the results of these explorations will be brought together in the GLOBAL 2003 war game. The planning, design, implementation, and analysis of each of these events, including GLOBAL 2003, is to be performed in collaboration between the Naval War College and qualified industrial and/or academic contractors. The presolicitation conference will provide all interested parties an overview of this war-gaming program and an open forum in which to discuss contractor responses to this program. Prospective contractors are encouraged to evaluate and challenge all elements of the proposed program. Preparatory materials and directions will be sent to all attendees before the presolicitation conference. Contractors interested in attending the presolicitation conference should facsimile responses to Ms. Pauline Gagne at (401) 841-6960, or e-mail responses to gagnep@nwc.navy.mil.
