Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland awarded an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract to Atlantic Door Control, Inc., 7395 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge Maryland, for the supply and installation of specialty door systems, in July 2001. The period of performance is extended through June 19, 2002, with three additional one year options. The contract shall not exceed $1,094,000 over its life. Due to the events of September 11, 2001, security has been heightened and door access security efforts have been accelerated. In order to provide for the door access security efforts, two additional door manufacturers are being included in the contract line items and the Statement of Work. Those manufacturers are Steelcraft and Next Door Company. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, proposals received by June 10, 2002, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
