Description
NSN 7R-5836-NO-TAS-SIGN, SPEC NR COTS, Qty 288 EA, Deliver to Defense Distribtion Depot San Diego San Diego CA --The Naval Inventory Control Point Philadelphia is seeking a commercial off the shelf (COTS) non-developmental item for replacement of the V-1000 Video Recorder-Reproducer. This recorder is scheduled to be used on all Lot XI and below F/A18 A/B/C/D type aircraft. The replacement Recorder-Reproducer shall be a dual deck (with option for an addition of a third deck without modification to the unit), top loading type with a minimum of 120 minutes of recording time for each Hi-8mm videocassette tape, and have the capability to eject the video cassette with no power to the aircraft. In addition, the new system must meet a minimum MTBF of 2000 hours when calculated using MIL-HDBK-217F and must have a demonstrated field MTBF reliability of 2000 hours minimum. Those COTSitems that do not have demonstrated reliability in a military application will be required to undergo Government First Article Flight Testing. Other pertinent performance factors delineated in the System Specification include thermal, electrical and dew condensation protection. \ \The subject requirement shall be solicited as a Best Value three-year Requirements Type contract. The Best Value solicitation will require all offerors to submit a sample unit with their separate technical and pricing proposals. The estimated quantity for year one is 288, year 2 is 20, and year 3 is 20.The quantities do not include Foreign Military Sales requirements that may be ordered during the course of the contract. Anticipated award date is SEPT 2002with deliveries to commence 90 days after award.
