Description

Gateway Mammotome System Complete - Brand Name or Equal - (Stereotactic and Ultrasound hand-held), includes the following: Smart-Vac Computer Control Module, Support Arm, Cart, Footswitch, Software, and (2) Hand-held Holsters, and (1) Stereotactic Holster. Specifications are as follows: 1. Vacuum assistance - biopsy system must have vacuum assistance in the breast biopsy process. The vacuum pulls surrounding tissue into cutting aperture and holds it stationary, as round rotating cutter cuts the tissue. 2. Micro-processor based operation (PC based) 3. Closed Loop Control Logic - rotating cutter sends a signal back to the micro-processor through a connection, that lets the system know what type of tissue resistance it is experiencing. Conversely, if the rotation cuter is spinning too fast through a fatty tumor, the micro-processor will slow down the cutting process. Smart-Vac - the smart vac clears the cavity created by previous sampling of tissue during the biopsy process of blood, therefore optimizing the biopsy sampling, and helping assure a good tissue sample. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intended to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
