Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. RFQ #DAAE30-02-Q-0843. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS : Two explosion proof conveyor systems to support the operation of ram-extrusion presses (propellant) at TACOM-ARDEC.Two identical conveyor units. Each conveyor unit will consist of one new KMC belt conveyor section with stainless steel frame &adjustable legs. Each unit will include 6” wide continuous belt and single adjustable stainless steel guide rails. Conveyor length will be 18’. Conveyor height will be adjustable between 37” and 45”. Each conveyor is to be castor mounted with appropriate stiffening for legs and driven by explosion proof varispeed motor. Included with the conveyor will be a standard explosion proof starter box with start/stop station. Explosion proof requirements can be met through the following: pneumatics; electrical-from the National Electric Code: Class I, Group D, Class II,Groups E, F and G for all electrical components and/or components/sensor meet the requirements for intrinsically safe (certified by UL underwriters). Materials of construction shall be provided by the bidder, pinch points, metal to metal contact must be eliminated. The entire system must be conductive, capable of being grounded. The system should be commercially available with minimal re-design needed to meet ourrequire- ments. DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: Delivery will be FOB to TACOM/ARDEC and shall be completed within eight weeks of contract award. EVALUATION CRITERIA: Lowest price technically acceptable.
