- Description
- Princeton University; Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is seeking firms that desire to compete, on a best value basis to provide a remote racking system for following medium voltage, horizontal rack, circuit breakers (manufacturer, type, and voltage class) Allis-Chalmers, MA & FA, 5 kV; Federal Pacific, DST-2, 5 kV; Federal Pacific, DST-2, 15 kV; ABB, HK, 5 kV; ABB, HK, 15 kV; and Westinghouse, DH, 5 kV. The racking system must allow the operator to perform racking at no less than 30 feet from the circuit breaker compartment. The remote console used by the operator, in addition to providing controls, should include circuit breaker position and racking trouble indication. The racking mechanism should be capable of detecting racking problems and taking corrective measures. PPPL intends to issue Requests for Proposals for System by about 14 June 2002 with delivery required by 30 August 2002. Anticipate a requirement, in the near time frame, for a second remote racking system for different circuit breakers. Statements of interest should be faxed (609) 243-2021) to Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Attention Larry L. Sutton, or e-mailed to lsutton@pppl.gov. Receipt of brochure on your remote racking system desired. This is not a request for proposals.
