NA Description: THIS NOTICE IS NOT INTENDED TO SOLICIT INTEREST FROM NEW CONTRACTORS FOR THIS RFP, BUT TO NOTIFY POTENTIAL SUBCONTRACTORS OF THE PRIME CONTRACTORS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SECOND PHASE OF THIS TWO-PHASE DESIGN BUILD PROJECT. Phase One has concluded and offerors have been selected to proceed to Phase Two. The following offerors will be provided RFP documents and invited to participate in Phase Two: (1) Burns & McDonnell Engineering, 9400 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO, (816) 333-9400 ( 2) Hensel Phelps Construction Co., 6280 Hazeltine National Dr, Orlando, FL 32822, (407) 856-2400 (3) Suitt Construction Co., 1900 International Park Dr, Birmingham, AL 35243, (205) 972-5441 (4) URS Group, Inc., 2870 Gateway Oaks Dr, Suite 300, Sacramento CA 95833, (916) 679-2000. Phase Two documents will be issued on or about 13 May 02. Phase Two proposals will be due on or about 25 Jun 02. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the internet after solicitation i ssuance at https://ebs.sas.usace.army.mil/. Description of Work: This solicitation is for the design, permitting, site preparation and construction of a C-130 Corrosion Control Facility at Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina. The facility to be construc ted is a two-bay aircraft hangar facility, including supporting sheet metal, paint booth and related shop space in support of washing and painting C-130 and other assigned aircraft at Pope AFB. Each bay is size to house one C-130J-30 aircraft. One bay is to have space and equipment configured for corrosion control activities involving periodic washing. One bay is to be configured with appropriate ventilation and equipment for painting of aircraft as required. Supporting facilities include interim outdoo r aircraft wash facilities (on existing concrete paved surfaces) and separate aircraft tie-down anchors for engine maintenance run-ups, all necessary utility connections; exterior lighting; walks, curbs and gutters; parking; storm drainage; information sys tems; and major road improvements. The facility is to include specialized ventilation and fire protection systems, and waste water pre-treatment systems. Access for the handicapped will be provided. Heating and air conditioning for the corrosion control facility will be provided by self-contained units. There will be Government Furnished-Contractor installed equipment (Paint booths).There will be three option items: (1) expanded POV parking lot, (2) install lockers in men?s and women?s restrooms, and ( 3) construct satellite POV parking lot. This project shall be designed by registered architects and engineers employed by or subcontracted by the successful contractor. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the respon sible offeror whose proposal, conforming to the solicitation, offers the ?Best Value? to the Government, price and technical factors considered. The estimated cost of the project is between $10,000,000.00 to $25,000,000.00. Network Analysis will be requir ed. Notification of amendments will be through use of the Internet. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, faxes, etc.) will be provided.
