- Description
- This project will consist of grading, drainage, base, and hot asphalt concrete pavement on 21.970 kilometers of roadway for the Sevenmile-Gooseberry Road, in Fishlake National Forest, Sevier County, State of Utah. Estimated price range is between $10,000,000.00 and $15,000,000.00. Principal work items: Contractor testing, lump sum; silt fence, 15,000 m; clearing and grubbing, 30.0 ha; roadway excavation, 365,000 m3; subexcavation, 21,000 m3; roadway obliteration, 13,000 m2; placed riprap (class 1 through 7), 10,900 m3; riprap ditch (class 1 & 2) 7,980 m; aggregate base, 89,000 metric tons; aggregate base for roadway maintenance, 5,000 metric tons; road reconditioning, 6.370 km; Superpave asphalt concrete pavement, 41,500 tons; minor hot asphalt concrete, 7,000 tons; structural concrete class A (AE), 240 m3; structural concrete class A (AE) for box culverts and/or wingwalls, 570 m3; precast, prestressed concrete structural members AASHTO type VI, 5 ea; reinforcing steel, 83,970 kg; drilled shafts, 205 m; secant piles 760 mm diameter, 96 m; pipe culvert (various) 3,860 m; end section for pipe culvert (various), 377 ea; perforated collector pipe (various) 2,680 m; outlet pipe (various) 1,240 m; granular backfill, 13,310 m3; asphalt concrete curb, 7,450 m; guardrail, system G4, type 4, class A (wood posts), 1,580 m; placing conserved topsoil, 54,110 m3; seeding, hydraulic method, 28.0 ha; mulching, hydraulic method, 37.0 ha; survey and staking (various); along with associated fencing, cattleguards, and traffic control. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
