- Description
- This project will consist of road reconstruction, structural fills, and drainage on 1.170 kilometers of roadway for Alderpoint Bluff Road, in Six Rivers National Forest, Trinity County, State of California. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Principal work items consist of lump sum contractor testing; 1,500 m silt fence; lump sum temporary diversion channel; 3,000 m3 watering for dust control; 2.25 hectare clearing and grubbing; lump sum removal of structures and obstructions; 46,000 m3 roadway excavation; 6,400 m3 unclassified borrow; 11,000 m2 uniaxial geogrid; 8,000 m2 biaxial geogrid; 6,500 m3 permeable backfill; 1,475 m3 placed riprap (class varies); 29 each ground anchor; 2,700 metric tons roadway aggregate method 2; 900 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 430 meters Steel H-piles (dimensions vary); 118 m3 structural concrete class A; 7 each precast, prestressed concrete structural members; concrete and concrete headwall; 80 meters pipe culvert (various); 770 meters underdrain system; 34.5 meters bridge transition railing; drilling and blasting; heavy equipment operations along with associated surveying, staking, fencing, seeding and traffic control. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
