Description

NA The Norfolk District, Corps of Engineers is offering for sale approximately 14,387 tons of standing pine sawtimber, 927 tons of chip-N-saw, 2,379 tons of pine pulpwood, 3,502 tons of hardwood sawtimber and 2,363 tons of hardwood pulpwood. located in three (3) blocks on 218 acres at the Fort Pickett Military Reservation, Blackstone, Virginia. This sale is to be by unit price, and a contract will be awarded for the highest total bid received. The total number of items for this sale is three (3). The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers through May 29, 2002 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, except legal holidays, or by appointment. Arrangements for inspections should be made by contacting Mr. Charles Durha m, District Forestry Office, Fort Pickett, Virginia 23824, telephone (434) 292-2500. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., May 30, 2002, by the Management and Disposal Section, Real Estate Branch, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Durham at Fort Pickett, or from the Management and Disposal Section address shown above. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, and a description of the timber are contained i n the bid forms. This sale will be by unit price (weight).
