Description
This is a modification to the Presolicitation Notice for solicitation N68335-02-R-3160 which stated the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst's (NAWCADLKE) intent to contract sole source with The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO, to procure peculiar support equipment (PSE) in support of the Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared (ATFLIR). The aforementioned notice erroneously defined the PSE as the ATFLIR Pod Level Test Set, P/N 74D740503-1001. The ATFLIR Pod Level Test Set is not defined by this one part number. Rather, the ATFLIR Pod Level Test Set is defined by two part numbers with their own noun nomenclature as follows: Electro-Optics Pallet/Pod Test (EOPT) System P/N 74D745003-1001 and the ATFLIR EOPT Ancillary Test Equipment P/N 74D740503-1001. As stated in the aforementioned notice, the Navy intends to procure fifteen (15) ATFLIR Pod Level Test Set units as part of the base contract with three options containing fifteen (15) units each via a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement Number N68335-02-G-3117. The Boeing Company is the only known source with the knowledge, experience and technical data required to produce this item. The Government does not own the drawings and other design documentation. Any firms that recognize and produce the required items are encouraged to identify themselves. A determination by the Government whether or not to open the requirement for competition based on the responses to this notice is entirely within the discretion of the Government.
