- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, has a requirement for research, which will help to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries resulting from electrical hazards in a mining environment. The contractor will apply mathematical modeling and analysis, laboratory studies, and in-mine experimentation to study the problems and investigate possible solutions with respect to hazards from electrical arcs and step and touch potentials, which occur in coal and stone mining operations. The period for performance is three years. Solicitation 2002-N-00417 will be available on or about May 22, 2002 and proposals are due June 26, 2002. No telephone requests will be accepted. Written requests may be sent to the above address, faxed to 412-386-6429, or sent via email to fbb4@cdc.gov. Offerors may obtain a copy of the RFP via the Internet at www.eps.gov. All responsible sources with appropriate capabilities may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the agency.
