- This is a Fixed Price contract for the item listed in the Unit Price Schedule. The work includes, but is not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish Sealed bids for IFB-FK0186/ACW, for the furnishing of labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, project management, quality control, testing, transportation, safety, appurtenances and other items necessary to rehabilitate station ventilation systems in fan shafts and vent shafts located at or near the Metro Center, Gallery Place-Chinatown, McPherson Square, Farragut West, Rosslyn, Crystal City and Friendship Heights Metrorail stations. This program will include the replacement of pneumatically actuated dampers, all associated control equipment, and vent shaft exit doors. The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 The period of performance is 500 calendar days. A bid guarantee, in the amount of 5% of the bid price, is required with the bid if it is greater than $100,000. There is no DBE goal established for this contract. However, DBE participation is encouraged and, pursuant to the Authority?s race neutral program is anticipated to be 19%. ?Effective March 4, 2002, there was a change in the federal regulations regarding certification requirements of proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) contractors and subcontractors on WMATA contracts. In order to be eligible for contract award resulting from a WMATA solicitation where there are DBE participation goals established, it is required that all proposed DBE contractors and subcontractors be fully certified under WMATA?s DBE Certification Program at the time of bid submittal. All Letters of Intent must include a copy of WMATA?s Certification Letter from the Office of Civil Rights confirming the proposed firm?s DBE status. Offerors should contract the Office of Civil Rights at (202) 962-2384 for questions regarding this policy.? The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds after award of the contract in the specified amounts. An insurance certificate with Worker's Compensation (Statutory), Employer's Liability, Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability coverages with WMATA included as an additional insured as stated, will also be required of the successful bidder. A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD at 9:30 a.m. on May 8th 2002, at Jackson Graham Building, Room 306 Copies of the contract plans and specifications will be available o/a April 29, 2002, and furnished at the cost of $50 per copy.
