- This notice is being issued to determine the interest and feasibility of proceeding with a formal request for proposals for the Maintenance and Repairs Railroads, as a small business set-aside. SHOULD INTEREST BE DETERMINED SUFFICIENT AND CREDIBLE, A FORMAL REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL MAY BE FORTHCOMING FOR THE FOLLOWING WORK: a firm-fixed price, indefinite quantity contract for all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, management and supervision necessary to perform preventive maintenance repairs (including performing emergency, urgent, and routine service work; preventive maintenance; implementing a facility inspection program; preparing proposals); and performing indefinite quantity work items of maintenance and repair to various types of existing railroad facilities at the Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, CA. The performance period is for 12 months with four (4) 12 month options to be exercised by the Government, if found to be in its best interest. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 488218. The related Small Business Size Standard is $6.0 Million. The solicitation will be a competitive Request for Proposal using Best Value Source Selection contract procedures found in the Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 15. This Request for Proposal is being considered for a set-aside for Small Business concerns. Interested Small Business concerns should, as early as possible, but no later than 20 May 2002, indicate interest in the acquisition by providing to the contracting officer (l) name and address of company; (2) positive statement of eligibility as a Small business concern include size of business, size status e.g. small, small disadvantaged, or 8(a),(3) Number of years in business(4)references of current or recently completed contracts which demonstrates your company's ability to perform functions as described above.
