- NA This FedBizOps announcement is a notice that TRICARE Region 6, 7, & 8 which includes all Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF?s) in the states of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, Idaho, Oklahoma, New Mexico, North Dakota, Monta na, Nebraska, Nevada, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming are in the standardization process for the product lines of: DISPOSABLE HOSPITAL APPAREL PRODUCTS TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SURGICAL CAPS AND HOODS, MASKS (SURGICAL AND PROCEDURE), SHOE COVERS, G OWNS (STAFF AND PATIENT), COVERALLS, AND LAB COATS/JACKETS IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SIZES AND STYLES. The intent of the standardization program is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items to standardize purchasing of products for th ese MTF?s. Clinical Product Teams (CPT) will evaluate this product line. Teams are composed of physicians, nurses and clinicians who have expertise and knowledge of the products. They will review and technically evaluate any samples submitted. TRICARE Regi on 6, 7 and 8 deems the CPT members to be medical experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which products are acceptable. Companies interested in having their items evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the item requirements. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS FOR ALL OF THE DISPOSABLE HOSPITAL APPAREL: 1. Products are disposable or limited use, 2. Products are made from non-woven, low-linting material, 3. Products are non-sterile, 4 Products m ust be identifiable as basic, fluid resistant, or fluid impervious, 5 Product lines must have assorted styles and sizes to meet the needs of the users, 6 Latex-Free products are available, 7 Hypoallergenic products are available. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS BY PRODUCT LINE ARE: A. DISPOSABLE SURGICAL CAPS/HOODS: 1. Bouffant caps available in regular and large sizes 2. Surgeon?s caps are available, 2. Surgical hoods and surgical hoods with beard covers are available, 3. Surgical hoods available in elastic and ne ck-tie models B.) DISPOSABLE SURGICAL AND PROCEDURE MASKS: 1. Masks are splash resistance and have two-way protection, 2. High filtration masks are available 3. Masks are available in a wide range of styles (pleated, duckbill, cone shape, splash shield) 4. Vertical and horizontal tie construction options are available (ties- ear loops and headbands) 5. NIOSH approved as applicable 6. Specialty designed products are available (Isolation, TB, Laser or cautery plume, fog reduction). C.) DISPOSABLE SHOE COV ERS: 1. Universal and extra large sizes available 2. Non-skid styles are available 3. Boot covers are available D.) DISPOSABLE GOWNS (STAFF AND PATIENT) AND APRONS: 1. Isolation and exam gowns are available, 2. Gowns are easy to don, 3. Available in a ssorted sizes and styles, 4. Made of comfortable light-weight material, 5. Secure neck and waist closures (secure ties, glued overlap tabs or hook and loop closures), 6. Secure sleeve closures (elastic or thumb loops). E.) DISPOSABLE COVERALLS (ENVIRONME NTAL & PERSONAL PROTECTIVE): 1. Coveralls must be easy to don, 2. Coveralls must come in a variety of styles and sizes up to 5X, 3. Impervious and non-impervious product lines products must be available F.) DISPOSABLE LAB COAT AND JACKET (OPERATING ROOM WARM UP JACKET): 1. Long sleeves, 2. Operating Room Warm up jacket has elastic or knit cuffs, 3. Button or snap closure front This is not a Request for Proposal; the purpose of the sources sought notice is to seek commercial sources that will meet the US Government requirements. Suppliers must be DAPA holders and will be required to conduct clinical evaluations and provide clinical samples at no cost to the government. If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for th is Medical/Surgical Product Line, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you are still eligible to participate in the standardization process for these regions by contacting the Defense Support Center-Philadelphia (DSCP). Please contact the DAPA contracting officer, Mr. Lou Jennings at (215) 737-2125 for assistan ce. Your company can be considered for standardization once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP. After you have notified the Tri-service Regional Business Office (TRBO) that your company wishes to participate, or that your DAPA application is pending with DS CP, your company will be notified prior to the start of the standardization process for this Product Line. Companies not submitting samples by the above date may be eliminated from consideration.
