- Description
- This publication serves as notice of intent to procure services, on a fixed price basis, from the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, of Texas A&M University. The National Marine Mammals Laboratory is continuing studies to quantify the amount of genetic differentiation among populations or subspecies of Steller sea lions. This research will facilitate management of this endangered species. The Government intends to negotiate solely with Texas A&M because this is a follow-on to work that the university has been performing, and because that institution has the unique ability to utilize Polymerase Chain Reactions techniques on marine mammals. Only Texas A&M has developed unique primers that cut the genetic material at specific locations. Any interested concern which believes it can provide these services should send a qualifying statement to the above address by 15 May 2002. The period of performance is expected to be one year, with options for two additional years. This is not a request for a competitive proposal. This notice will be the only official notice of such solicitation. See Note 22.
