- Description
- The Sealift Support Program Office will conduct an Industry Day from May 29 thru 31, 2002 at the Conference Center (Building 3430) at the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base Norfolk, Virginia. On May 29, 2002 @0800, starts the INLS introductory brief that will include background, and specific requirements. This brief will be followed by a tour of the INLS prototype components and individual one-on-one 45-minute appointments with potential contractors to address questions regarding the program requirements. Written responses will not be provided. SSPO requests that contractors be prepared to present information regarding their company's capacity capabilities and experience. Contractors are requested to provide the name of their company, organization and/or division group, specifying company status, i.e., hubzone, 8(a), small business, or large business, telephone number and email address. Due to the security requirements, pre-registration is necessary for base access. Contractors participation is limited to no more than 5 people per company. The Conference Center will provide audiovisual equipment including VCR, computer hook-ups and overhead projectors. Contract strategy has not yet been determined however a non-restricted competition is anticipated based on overall production capacity. The anticipated combination type contract, Cost Plus Fixed Fee and Firm Fixed Price is scheduled to be awarded during 1st/2nd Qtr of FY03. The contract shall be for the design, production, test, delivery and logistics support. The contract will consist of Low Rate Initial Production quantities and four options for FRP beginning in FY 05 and ending in FY 08. Currently the total requirement consists of powered and non-powered barges that can be assembled into the following platforms: (40) Warping Tugs (WT) with a configuration of 24ft wide by 90ft long by 8ft high, (3) Roll-On/Roll-Off Discharge Facilities (RRDF) configuration 96ft wide by 400ft long made up of 12 modules approximately 24ft wide by 80ft long by 8ft high, (64) Causeway Ferries (CF) approximately 24ft wide by 250ft long consisting of one powered module approximately 24ft wide by 90ft long and 2 modules approximately 24ft wide by 80ft long, (4) Floating Causeways (FC) consists of an anchoring, beach ramps, roadway, and docking pier head. The FC is approximately 24ft wide by 1200ft long and consists of 17 modules approximately 24ft by 80ft long. Delivery of the last platform is anticipated in FY10. The work will be performed in accordance with Government furnished Statement of Work (SOW), Specifications and Drawings. Delivery is schedule at the Naval Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE (ACB-1), Coronado, CA, Naval Amphibious Construction Battalion TWO (ACB-2), Little Creek, VA, Blount Island Command (BIC), Jacksonville, FL, and Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific (EWTGPAC), Coronado, CA.
