Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAVAIRWARCENWPNSDIV) intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis software and firmware technical support for the F/A-18 aircraft weapons system. This procurement is a sole source to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166. The Boeing Company, the prime F/A-18 aircraft manufacturer, is the only qualified source to perform this effort within the time required to meet fleet needs. As the sole designer, developer, integrator, manufacturer, and supplier of the F/A-18 aircraft, Boeing is the only firm that possesses the requisite knowledge of the aircraft and weapon system. The requirement is to procure technical support for the development and integration of System Configuration Sets (SCS) for the F/A-18 weapons system including the C/D Aircraft Configuration, E/F Aircraft Configuration, and support of Fleet Released SCSs, Acquisition Product Development and Studies and Analysis. The services shall be performed at the contractor facility in St. Louis, MO and on-site at NAVAIRWARCENWPNSDIV China Lake, CA. The Level-of-Effort is estimated to be 2,122,909 hours, a portion of which may be included in Option CLINS. The contract term will be five years. Award will be made on or about 31 July 2002. See Note 22 and 26. Any firm believing that they can provide the required services, may submit a written response, which shall be considered, clearly showing their ability to perform the work without compromising the quality, accuracy, reliability, and delivery of the product to the fleet. Responses shall be submitted to Debra Hartley at the address noted above by 30 April 2002.
