Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Process Measurements Division, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Andor Technology of South Windsor, CT, for a CCD Full Frame Detector System including the following items: (1) Marconi 42-10 Charge Coupled Device Camera; (2) System Controller Card; (3) Andor-MCD System Data Acquisition and Manipulation Software; (4) External Power Supply for additional cooling of the CCD detector system; (5) Multiple Input/Output Breakout Box with shutter driver control; (6) Mounting Flange; (7) Nikon F Lens Mount; (8) 10 Meter long detector head signal cable.***Sole source determination is based on Andor Technology being the only known source who can provide this equipment with all of the following required specifications: (1) Back illuminated chip; (2) 13.5 X 13.5 micron square pixels; (3) 2048 X 512 pixels or greater; (4) a dynamic range of greater than or equal to 16 bits at 31 kHz readout rate; (5) a linearity of less than or equal to 1% deviation from a straight line fit of a plot of counts vs. signal over the 16 bit dynamic range; (6) Thermo-Electric cooling of the detector head to a temperature as low as minus 90 degrees Celsius.***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and shall be completed with 6 months after receipt of order.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334512, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, responses received by April 12, 2002, will be considered by the Government.***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
