Description
The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for the renovation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within Segment C at the Upper Midwest Environmental Science Center in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. The requirement is to demolish the existing air handlers, duct work and terminal units along with the associated hydronics (pumps, piping and controls), steam humidification (piping, valves, distribution equipment and controls), electrical power (starters, power wiring and disconnects) and pneumatic controls. The contractor shall install new air handling units, duct work and terminal units along with all associated hydronics (pumps, hot and chilled water piping), steam heating and humidification (heat exchanger, traps, valves, distribution equipment and controls), electrical power (starters, disconnects, conduit and wiring) and HVAC control systems (digital control systems) to serve both the upper and lower levels of Segment C. There is also general construction work that includes demolition, concrete cutting, interior walls, suspended acoustical ceilings, painting, carpeting and interior doors (locks/hardware). Specific work requirements are set forth in the Request for Proposals (RFP), technical specifications and drawings. The RFP will be available at http://www.usgs.gov/contracts/index.html. The estimated release date for the RFP is April 2, 2002. The anticipated award date is June 5, 2002. There is a fee of $50.00 for copies of the technical specifications and drawings which will be mailed separately. Checks must be made payable to "U.S. Geological Survey" and mailed to the U.S. Geological Survey, Eastern Region Acquisition and Grants Branch, 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive Mail Stop 152, Reston, Virginia 20192, Attention David L. Batcheller. The Government cannot be held responsible for any delay caused by non-receipt of the fee or delays in the mail. Requests must clearly state the company name and mailing address, a point of contact and phone/fax/email information. A site visit is planned and the exact date will be announced with the RFP. The anticipated value of the construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code is 233320. The size standard is $28.5 million. The proposed procurement is being issued as an UNRESTRICTED acquisition pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The performance period will be 210 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. All responsible sources who have a valid Dun & Bradstreet Number may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency.
