Description
Offers are solicited from those firms specializing in the underground installation and testing of fiber optic cable. Firms shall be required to document a minimum of 5 years successful experience in performing such work. In addition firms shall be required to document successfully performing such work on major activity airports such as Lambert-St. Louis. Documented projects shall be of similar size and scope. PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. Furnish competent surveying resources to properly layout subject sites and provide horizontal and vertical control. 2. Furnish and install duct bank and fiber optic cable at location indicated on the drawings and specifications. Fiber optic cable shall be contractor furnished and the duct bank shall be concrete encased outside the Airport Operations Area and in locations indicated on the drawings. 3. Perform directional boring to install duct bank in areas indicated on the drawings. 4. Ter! minate cables in fiber optic connector centers as indicated on the drawings and specifications. At the proposed RTR A site, the contractor shall install a Field Termination Unit and a GFM fiber optic connector center. 5. Remove concrete foundations and stoops in specified sites where shelters have previously been removed by others. 6. At the R/W 30L Glide Slope site, install a disconnect switch and relocate the electrical feed for the Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) facility. 7. Regrade and repair all areas disturbed by construction activities. 8. Install and maintain erosion control measures to protect ditches and inlets.
