- Description
- The Forest Service intends to issue a Request for Proposals to reconstruct Forest Route 4 (7N02) from milepost 0.00 to milepost 16.57 on the Six Rivers National Forest. Reconstruction work consists of: repairing the roadway; cleaning and shaping ditches; removing slough and slide material; cleaning inlets and outlets of culverts; dig outs; asphalt concrete patches and overlays; patching pot holes; placing aggregate base; placing riprap; removal and installation of culvert; scarifying and recompacting the roadway; and applying a single chipseal treatment. The project includes a base with 2 additive items. To reach the project location from the intersection of Highway 101 and State Highway 299 at Arcata, CA travel east on Highway 299 approximately 38 miles to Willow Creek CA. Travel north on Co. Road 8M130 approximately 3.2 miles to Route 4 and the beginning of the project. The end of the project can be reached by traveling 9.6 miles east of Willow Creek to Hawkins Bar CA., and traveling north on Trinity County road 442 approximately 1.7 miles to Route 4. Work is expected to begin approximately July 10, with a contract time of 60 calendar days. No pre-proposal tour is scheduled. Price range is between $250,000 to $500,000. The project is unrestricted and the NAICS code is 234110. A 20% bid bond will be required with offer. Performance and payment bonds of 100% each will be required of the successful offeror. The Government will award the contract to the offeror whose proposal represents the best value to the Government based on the merits of the proposal for: technical approach, past performance, experience of project personnel, capacity to perform and price. Solicitation documents will be available at this FedBizOpps website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) on approximately April 8. The closing date for receipt of proposals is approximately close of business of May 8.
