Description

Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision required to demolish CALFAC building at U. S. Coast Guard Old Station Portage, Hancock Township, MI. Major work items include: Demolition of calibration facility building, adjacent parking lot, fuel tank, septic tank, and drain field. Excavate, backfill and re-seed work area. Perform a lead based paint (LBP) survey of the interior and exterior surfaces suspected of containing LBP. Analyze bulk samples (approx. 50 samples). Provide a written report and recommendations. Perform an asbestos inspection of the interior and exterior surfaces suspected of containing asbestos. Analyze bulk samples (approx. 10 samples). Provide a written report and recommendations. Unit Work Item 1: Perform a toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TLCP) analysis of the interior and exterior surfaces that contain LBP. Analyze composite samples for possible hazardous lead content (approx. 5 samples). Provide a written report and recommendations. Unit Work Item 2: Remove and dispose of lead based painted construction debris and paint chips as hazardous waste (based on 130 CY of lead based painted construction debris and paint chips). Unit Work Item 3: Remove and dispose of asbestos containing material as hazardous waste (based on 50 CY of asbestos containing material). Unit Work Item 4: Remove and dispose of lead based painted construction debris and paint chips as normal construction debris [TCLP testing results below hazardous limit] (based on 130 CY of lead based painted construction debris and paint chips). Unit Work Item 5: Remove and dispose of all construction debris and paint chips as normal construction debris [no lead, asbestos or other hazardous waste found](based on 200 CY of construction debris and paint chips). This procurement is open to large and small businesses in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The applicable NAICS Code is: 235940 (formerly SIC 1795).
