Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a Fixed Price Incentive / Award Fee contract to procure an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Program to support the Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) system. The ILS Program will include sustaining engineering technical support, Organizational & Intermediate level Site activation plans, Intermediate and Depot Level repair capability, technical data/drawings/schematics, and technical publications. In addition, training will be provided to aircrews and maintainers. The Government intends to award a contract to McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516 pursuant to Title 10 U.S. C. 2304(c)(1). This ATFLIR ILS Program will be procured as part of the F/A-18E/F Integrated Readiness Support Teaming (FIRST) Program previously synopsized under Synopsis #20083-01 dated 7 August 2001. MDC is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18E/F aircraft and the only known source that has the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data required to successfully complete the complex integration of the ATFLIR hardware into the F/A-18 aircraft weapon system. The period of performance is twelve (12) months for 2003 with two twelve (12) month priced options for 2004 and 2005.
