Description
The United States Department of Agriculture, Offic of Chief Information Officer, National Technology Center (NITC), is seeking marketing literature and technical documentation on network monitoring software that is comprised of either single source solutions or an intergrated suite of various products. The system should integrate with other commercial standard monitoring and management tolls to provide a final cohesive and comprehensive system that has the following capabilities: 1. General systems functions: a. Provide an integrated graphical solution for monitoring, analywing and reporting errors and overall performance statistics on networked hardware and software; b. Automatic generation of alerts about hardware, operating system software, applications software, telecommunications software, and other systems and subsystems performance; c. Automatic notifications of performance status via various methodoloties (i.e., e-mail, aural, pater, etc); d. Central administration interface from a single system though it may be comprised of several systems and subsystems; e. A system that shall be accessible via a networked workstation or via a web interface; f. Capability to generate standard and customized reports; g. Backup and recovery capabilities; 2. Provide a graphical network map; 3. Monitor and manage the state of the routers, hubs, switches and other communications media; 4. Fully interface with MVS CA-OPS system and shall be able to monitor OD/390 systems and subsystems, such as CICS IDMS, Oracle and DB2; 5. Monitor and automate functions required to keep operating systems, applications and mail servers up and operational; 6. Record, track, manage, and automate workflow for software and hardware development and installations project; 7. Monitor web servers and applications states; 8. Monitor DASD performance; 9. Monitor operating systems performance and capacity; 10. Monitor current state of databases and applications; 11. Automatic hardware and software inventorying; 12. Automated software delivery from a central system with minimal human intervention; 13. Provide control over remote personal computer systems and servers on the network; and 14. Provide security to prevent unauthorized access. Equipment included in the network that is to be monitored includes, but is not limited to, mainframes, PCS, VAX, RSC/6000, SUN, and includes operating system software such as OS/390, Novell, NT Windows 2000, UNIX AIX, Linux, MVS, VMS, and include various commercial software such as Oracle, DB2, Cobol, etc. Written responses to this notice are to be directed to Sherri Davis, 300 7th & D Street, SW, Room 384 - Reporters Bldg., Washington, DC 20024. Responses should include three (3) copies of all marketing literature and technical documentation associated with the identified software. This is a request for information and not a request for comment or request for proposals. To be considered, responses must be received by March 18, 2002. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this request for information, and any information received will become the property of the Government and will not be returned to the submitter. No solicitation is available for this requirement.
