- Amendment 1: Replaced Table of Contents <P> The purpose of this announcement is to obtain Industry comment on the draft Screening Information Request (SIR) for the Rapid Preliminary Development Effort (RPDE) of the NEXCOM program. This announcement is for information only and not a request for proposals. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA shall not be liable for any costs associated with the preparation of comments/responses to this public announcement or draft SIR. Comments to this draft package are due back no later than March 20, 2002. The comments should be provided to Mr. Matthew Asai, ASU-330, Federal Aviation Administration, 800 Independence Avenue S.W., Washington D.C. 20591. Comments and any questions regarding this draft package may be sent to the contracting officer via email at Matt.Asai@faa.gov. See attached index for a complete list of documents contained in this draft release. Please note that the FAA is not releasing the Data Item Description (DIDs) at this time. Th! e FAA expects to release the DIDs before issuance of the final SIR. The FAA anticipates releasing the final SIR on or about April 17, 2002. <P>
