Description
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Dr. Jay A. Brown, Bloomington, IN in accordance with FAR 13.1061(b)(1). The Division of Specialized Information Services offers a variety of toxicological information to the public through the World Wide Web. This information takes the form of bibliographic files such as TOXLINE and data files such as the Hazardous Substances Databank HSDB). The priority Haz-Map database was developed by Dr. Brown, and implemented by SIS, offers an opportunity to bring this occupational toxicology data to the public. Dr. Brown is a physician board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine with M.D. and M.P.H.degrees, and has year of experience in development of toxicological information on the Web. The Period of Performance is for a base year period and one (1) succession one year period. Tasks may include but are not limited to the following: Review the data in Haz-Map for completeness and suitability in the SIS suite of databases; Migrate Haz-Map data to a MySQL database on an SIS server; consult with SIS about a web interface to it; Update theHaz-Map database, and consult about future online updates. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations However, the Government will consider all quotations received 15 days from the date of publication. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The anticipated award date of the contract is March 22, 2002.
