- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is DLI20120 and incorporates provisions and clauses through FAC 2001-04. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The NAICS/Code is 334113/1000EM. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences is interested in obtaining the following: 1 each S-ORIGIN300-8-0 Origin 300 8P 500MHz/2MB Cache Server, 2 each MEM-0300-1G Origin300 1GB Kit (2x512MB), 1 each DRV-0300-18GB-A 18GB 15K RPM Disk for Origin 300, 2 each DK-SL1-001 Destination Kit for Single Tower Origin200:Origin Vault (US/CANADA), 1 each SC4-ASE-6.5 IRIX 6.5 Advanced Server Environment for Origin Systems, 1 each TPJ-BASE SGI TP900 Base Unit, 1 each TPJ-18G SGI TP900 18GB 15K RPM Ultra 160 SCSI Drive, 1 each RM-KIT-TPJ SGI TP900 Initial Order Origin Rack Mount, 2 each RM-KIT-ORIGIN300-1 Origin300 Rack Mount Kit (Factory Installed), 1 each S-RACK-ORIGIN300 Origin300 Short Rack (17U). Pricing is to include a Trade-In of ONYXRE2, Silicon Graphics Onyx Reality Engine 2 8xR10000 195 Mhz, 2MB Secondary Cache. Removal of the ONYX Trade-In and Return of Product to Silicon Graphics is to be at no cost to the Government. This is a Silicon Graphics brand-name requirement. The brand-name justification is based on the requirement that these items must be compatible with existing servers and software (Gaussview and Gaussian 98) licenses. There is also a requirement for compatibility at the level of executables in order to transparently queue simulations to existing processor collection/databases. Delivery will be made to NIEHS Warehouse, Bldg. 104, South Campus, 111 T.W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709. Offeror should quote FOB Destination. The following provision applies to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors. There are no additional addenda. FAR Clause 52.212-2 Evaluation - Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The government intends to make a "best value buy" to the responsible offeror whose offer is most advantageous to the government. The evaluation criteria will include 1) the technical capability of the item offered to meet the government's needs, 2) price, 3) warranty considerations and 4) delivery time. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and Certification-Commercial with offers. FAR Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following paragraphs of 52.212-5 apply: (a) and (11)-(16)(21)(22)(25)(27) of (b) and 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal. Defense Priorities and Allocations Systems (DPAS) does not apply.
